Turn Exit

The Turn Exit Lesson focuses on optimizing your performance during the final phase of a corner — from the midpoint through to the corner exit. It delivers real-time voice-guided feedback on your car’s rotation and throttle behavior to help improve drive-out consistency and speed.

Tip: This lesson is most effective after you’ve already refined your turn entry using the Turn Entry Lesson. Proper entry sets the foundation for a clean and fast exit.

The Turn Exit Lesson evaluates the following aspects of your exit performance:

Focus AreaDescription
Midpoint RotationDetects overrotation or underrotation at the slowest point of the corner.
Throttle TimingAssesses when throttle is applied after the midpoint — too early, too late, or just right.
Full Throttle TimingEvaluates how soon and effectively you reach full throttle.
Throttle AmountAnalyzes the overall smoothness and consistency of throttle application.

This lesson works similarly to the Turn Entry Lesson and supports two operation modes:

  • After activation, the coach observes a few laps.
  • It then identifies the turn with the weakest exit and begins coaching that turn specifically.

  • If you want to focus on a specific turn, use the “Mark event in telemetry” button in iRacing.
  • The coach will acknowledge with “Focus turn set” and begin analyzing that corner’s exit behavior.

This allows you to either let the coach find your weakest point or take direct control of the training focus.

The Turn Exit Lesson is useful for:

  • Improving acceleration out of corners.
  • Building confidence in applying throttle progressively and correctly.
  • Maximizing exit speed without sacrificing car balance.

It’s especially helpful for drivers who have already stabilized their entry and are now looking to extract maximum performance from exits.

There are no adjustable settings for the Turn Exit Lesson.

  • Feedback is automatic and based on live data collected during driving.

The Turn Exit Lesson helps fine-tune your corner exits, ensuring you apply throttle at the right moment and rotate the car effectively to carry speed down the straight.
