Turn Entry

The Turn Entry Lesson focuses specifically on improving how you approach and initiate corners. It provides voice-guided feedback that targets key aspects of the entry phase, including speed, braking behavior, and the accuracy of your corner approach.

This lesson analyzes and coaches the following turn entry factors:

Focus AreaDescription
Entry SpeedEvaluates if you’re carrying the correct speed into the corner.
Midpoint SpeedChecks if your speed at the slowest point (midpoint) is appropriate.
Midpoint PositionAnalyzes whether you hit the correct position at the corner’s slowest point.
Brake ApplicationDetects whether braking is too early, too late, too light, or too aggressive.

The Turn Entry Lesson can operate in two different modes:

  • After activation, the coach silently monitors your laps.
  • Once it has enough data, it automatically selects the turn with the most room for improvement and begins coaching that turn.

  • If you want to override the coach’s choice (e.g., you already know which turn you want to work on), you can manually set the focus turn using the “Mark event in telemetry” button in iRacing.
  • The coach will confirm this action by saying “Focus turn set” and will begin coaching that specific corner.

This dual-mode functionality allows for flexible learning whether you’re exploring weak points or targeting known problem areas.

This lesson is ideal for:

  • Drivers struggling with corner entries or consistency into turns.
  • Identifying whether time loss is due to braking habits, poor corner approach, or incorrect minimum speed.
  • Maximizing confidence and precision in the initial phase of the corner.

There are no adjustable settings for the Turn Entry Lesson.

  • Coaching is activated automatically and tailored based on in-session performance.

The Turn Entry Lesson is a powerful tool for refining your approach into corners, helping you build a solid entry technique through targeted, real-time feedback.
