Track Guide
The Track Guide is the most basic lesson available in VirtualCoach. It provides voice-guided coaching that serves as a foundational tool for learning the layout and rhythm of a new track.
Unlike the visual overlays, this lesson relies entirely on audio communication from the virtual coach, helping you stay focused on driving while still receiving guidance.
Reference
Section titled “Reference”For each turn, the Track Guide coach provides two essential pieces of information:
| Instruction Type | Description |
|---|---|
| Gear | The optimal gear to use in the corner. |
| Braking | A description of how to brake, such as “strong 75%” or “slight 10%”. |
This lesson ensures you start with the right habits by focusing on proper gear selection and braking force, helping you build a strong foundation before moving on to more advanced lessons.
Usecase
Section titled “Usecase”The Track Guide lesson is best suited for:
- New drivers learning a new track layout.
- Building confidence in braking zones and gear selection.
- Laying the groundwork before progressing to Turn Entry or Exit lessons.
It is especially effective in the early stages of practice or when jumping into an unfamiliar circuit.
For best results, consider combining the Track Guide with the Beeps system for audio-based braking cues and the Input Overlay to visually track gear and pedal input. This combination enhances both awareness and execution while learning the track.
Settings
Section titled “Settings”There are no adjustable settings for the Track Guide lesson.
- The coach instructions play automatically as you approach each corner.
- Voice instructions are triggered in real time, based on your car’s position.
The Track Guide is the ideal first step to understanding track fundamentals, enabling you to learn the basics with clarity and consistency through simple, effective voice coaching.
